Tottenham are ready to consider offers for striker Vincent Janssen as Premier League pair West Brom and Stoke circle over his name, according to a report.
The Daily Mail have claimed on their live transfer blog (Saturday, 10.44am) that the Midlands duo are showing an interest in the Spurs 23-year-old just one-year after his move to north London.
The striker has so far failed to make an impact in Mauricio Pochettino’s side and following his debut season he finished with a return of just six strikes from 38 matches in all competitions.
This is said to have resulted in Tottenham ready to consider interest in the £17million man and that is not short with the Mail report naming each of Borussia Monchengladbach, Lazi and Marseille as eyeing Janssen alongside both Stoke and West Brom.
The striker still has three years remaining on his contract at Spurs, but with star Harry Kane well ahead of him in the team the Holland international may seek a move elsewhere in a World Cup year.
Football Insider verdict:
Janssen was a gamble for Tottenham last summer and sadly for the club it so far hasn’t worked. The Dutchman boasted an incredible scoring rate in Holland in the 2015-16 season with 32 goals from 49 appearances in all competitions. However, for whatever reason he has looked nothing like the player Spurs fans were expecting on his joining. There is still some hope for the striker at his age that he can develop into a quality player. But, if Spurs feel that they are ready to cut their losses then they must do as soon as possible before his value plummets.
