Tottenham are braced to offer a contract to Paris Saint-Germain teenager Jonathan Ikone, according to a French report.
The exciting young winger with an eye for goal has failed to agree terms with PSG over a professional contract.
This has prompted strong interest from Premier League and Italian clubs keen to snap up Ikone for a bargain fee.
According to French publication Foot, Juventus are also closely pursuing the teenager, who turned 18 earlier this month, and are in pole position to land him.
But it is said Spurs are on standby to hold talks with Ikone’s representatives and offer him a contract in order to entice him to North London.
The France Under 17 international could be signed for just £1.2million compensation, a tiny fee given what could be his potential to possibly make it to the highest level.
Reports in French newspaper L’Equipe last month indicated the Serie A champions are already in advanced talks over signing the player.
Juve have previously had great success in signing young French players for small fees.
They pinched their star midfielder Paul Pogba from Manchester United and also sealed a deal for Kingsley Coman – now with German side Bayern Munich – after his PSG contract expired.
The L’Equipe report said Juve had begun discussions over the player’s personal terms but with no deal finalised, Spurs are continuing to monitor things.
Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Ikone.
In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are eyeing a move for Jordan Lukaku, brother of Romelu Lukaku.
