Tottenham are keeping close tabs on Sergio Aguero, according to a report.

Spanish publication Don Balon claim the London giants are waiting for the green light to make a stunning swoop for the Manchester City sensation.

It is said that that Aguero, 28, is weighing up his options after falling out of favour at City under Pep Guardiola in recent weeks.

The prolific Argentine was dropped to the bench for the games against Everton and Barcelona, and was a late substitute in Wednesday’s League Cup defeat to Manchester United.

Guardiola continues to insist the Etihad favourite is in his plans, but Don Balon claim Aguero is already eyeing up possible alternative clubs.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all named as potential destinations, although it remains to be seen whether City would cash in on such a prolific player or sell to a direct title rival.

On the continent, Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also namechecked as clubs keen on prising Aguero from Etihad Stadium.

Aguero’s pre-eminent status has diminished even though he has maintained his remarkable City scoring record this season, netting 11 goals from 12 matches.

Since joining City for £38million from Atletico Madrid in 2011, Aguero has scored 147 goals in 220 matches and is regarded as one of the greatest players in the club’s history.

In other Tottenham transfer news, the club are in advanced talks to agree a £15million deal ahead of the January transfer window.
