Trevor Sinclair has picked Arsenal stars Shkodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez in his Premier League team of the season so far.
Both players have been crucial in the Gunners title challenge, as the north London side look to improve on last season’s second-placed finish.
In a video on the Premier League’s official website, summer signing Mustafi and Chilean Sanchez were picked alongside Eden Hazard, Kyle Walker and Kevin De Bruyne by Sinclair.
“Mustafi has been outstanding,” Sinclair said. “For him to hit the ground running in the Premier League, I think it is testament to his quality and obviously Arsene Wenger knows a good player when he sees one.
“Sanchez has not played up front much for Arsenal before this season, but once he has been given that responsibility he has taken it on his shoulders.”
Since his £35million move from La Liga outfit Valencia, Mustafi has excelled at the back for Arsene Wenger’s side showing both defensive solidity and a composure when on the ball.
Arsenal are yet to lose with the Germany international and former Everton youth player in the side, winning 13 out of his 19 league and cup appearances.
Despite keeping only five clean sheets in that time, Mustafi has proved crucial as teammate Sanchez continues to provide the goals that has seen the Gunners outscore their opposition.
The 28-year-old has had a hand in an unbelievable 28 goals this season, scoring 13 himself and providing 15 assists in just 26 appearances for the north London giants.
Currently sitting second to Diego Costa in the Premier League goalscoring charts, Sanchez’s form has been unstoppable this season as rumours continue to circulate over his future.
With just 18 months remaining on his current deal after signing from Barcelona back in the summer of 2014, Sanchez remains locked in contract talks.
In other Arsenal news, this midfielder has completed a deal with the Gunners.
