Tottenham are only a medical away from announcing Victor Wanyama as their first summer signing but it seems that Spurs’ fans can’t make their minds up on Twitter over the 24-year-old.
The midfielder has a reputation as the enforcer’s enforcer after starring in the holding midfield role for Southampton in the past three seasons and and making a notable 400-plus interceptions in 2015-16.
Some Spurs fans are delighted at the deal, believing the transfer fee, reported to be £12million, to be a good piece of business by Mauricio Pochettino.
However, many fans on Twitter voiced their concerns over the former Celtic midfielder, who has picked up three red cards this season.
So there are doubts over the signing of the Kenyan international, with a section of Spurs fans seemingly expecting a higher calibre of player.
It remains to be seen whether Pochettino can get Wanyama to hit the ground running at the second time of asking.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Barcelona have made a bid for Spurs’ Lille target.
