West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is confident Dimitri Payet will make his first start for the Hammers this weekend, and fans on Twitter are delighted.

The France international is yet to play a full 90 minutes this season after reaching the final of the European Championships with his country this summer.

Payet, 29, was used as a substitute against Chelsea before the international break and featured in the first half of his country’s game against Italy last Thursday. He was also brought on for the last 30 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Belarus on Tuesday.

Fans on Twitter are excited to see the possible return of Payet with one supporter even claiming the news is better than seeing his own daughter being born!

Payet took the Premier League by storm last season after scoring 15 goals and providing 17 assists in all competitions.

The former Marseille talisman developed a reputation for his set-piece ability in his first season in England, providing several assists from corners as well as scoring memorable goals from free-kicks.

The Frenchman will have to adapt to playing at the London Stadium this season after the club moved away from Upton Park this summer. It will mean Bilic’s star player display his talents in front of close to 60,000 fans.

Payet was back at West Ham’s training ground Rush Green this week and will now be preparing for his side’s clash against Watford on Saturday.

In other West Ham team news, this new signing’s father has revealed that he had accepted an offer to join Serie A side Napoli before making a London Stadium move.
