Sky Sports pundit Ian Holloway has predicted Aston Villa could be relegated for a second consecutive campaign – and fans of the club gave a mixed reaction to his view on Twitter.
The former Crystal Palace, QPR and Blackpool manager claimed in his column for Sky Sports’ website that Villa would finish in 16th out of the 24 second-tier teams but claimed “they could easily get relegated”.
Holloway’s view clearly incensed Xia, who took to Twitter to describe the former midfielder as a “failed player, failed manager and failed pundit”.
Many supporters felt a lot of changes are needed at the club and the outspoken pundit is entitled to his opinion, whether fans agree or disagree with his comments.
But one fan pointed out that the former Championship manager is still angry with the Midlands club trying to sign Charlie Adam while he was at Blackpool.
Here are the reactions to Holloway’s prediction:

Ian Holloway is quite obviously still angry with Aston Villa for trying to sign Charlie Adam when he was at Blackpool #avfc

I see Holloway has tipped us to finish 16th. Whilst I disagree with that I also don't think we'll go up unless we see lots of changes #AVFC

Ian Holloway predicting we will finish 16th or get relegated? The bloke is even more deluded as a pundit than he was as a manager ✊🏻💦 #AVFC
