Dele Alli had a poor performance in Tottenham’s 2-1 loss to Monaco on Wednesday evening – and fans took to Twitter to criticise their midfield star.
Alli, 20, surprisingly started the match in central midfield alongside Eric Dier before being pushed forwards into his more accustomed No10 slot in the second half following the introduction at the break of Moussa Dembele.
But the youngster was unable to produce a special pass or moment of magic to earn Mauricio Pochettino’s side a point from the Champions League clash.
Supporters on Twitter hounded the creative midfielder with one fan even claiming the match to be his worst game in a Tottenham shirt.
Here is a selections of their messages on Twitter:

The visitors took a two-goal lead in the game after clinical finishes from Bernardo Silva and Thomas Lemar took advantage of ragged Spurs defending.
But Toby Alderweireld gave the home side hope with a superbly-taken header from an Erik Lamela corner shortly before half-time.
Pochettino’s side were unable to find the net again before full-time and ended their first match in the Champions League for five years with a defeat.
