Jack Grealish has signed a new four-year contract with Aston Villa and fans have had a mixed reaction to the news.

The Birmingham outfit announced that Grealish had penned a new contract via their official Twitter account on Wednesday afternoon.

Grealish, 20, was part of the Villa squad that suffered its first relegation from the Premier League last season.

Most Villa fans took to social media to give their support to the young forward, while others questioned the move’s significance after Fabian Delph left the club shortly after signing a new deal last season.

Grealish, who came through the Villa academy as a youngster, was given his debut by then-manager Paul Lambert against Manchester City in 2014.

He has made 52 appearances in all competitions for his boyhood club and Di Matteo will be hoping his star forward can inspire his side to instant promotion this term.

The Italian boss has cause for concern though after only picking up only one win so far this season.
