Tottenham defender Ben Davies gave an impressive performance in the Wales backline against Moldova on Monday evening, and fans took to Twitter to applaud the versatile player.

Chris Coleman’s side won the match 4-0 and Davies played the full 90 minutes.

The 23-year-old usually plays at left-back, but lined-up for Wales in the centre of a five-man defence, alongside Everton’s Ashley Williams and Aston Villa’s James Chester.

Wales fans took to Twitter after the game to praise him for his solid performance, which would have also pleased club manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Davies, who moved to White Hart Lane in 2014 from Swansea, is seen as back-up for Danny Rose.

The youngster still has three years left on his contract, but hasn’t featured for Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season after making 27 appearances in the last campaign.

However, the Argentine boss will be looking to use the full strength of his squad this season as his side prepares to battle in the Champions League and Premier League.

In other Tottenham team news, Spurs have made contact over the possibility of Emmanuel Adebayor returning to White Hart Lane.
