Arsenal fans took to Twitter to lay in to Shkodran Mustafi following their 1-1 Champions League draw to Paris Saint-Germain.
Mustafi, 24, joined Arsenal this summer for £35million and made his European debut for the Gunners against PSG on Tuesday night.
But the former Valencia centre-back was caught napping as Edinson Cavani stole in to open the scoring with a header just 42 seconds into the game.
Arsenal fought back with a late goal through Alexis Sanchez but the damage had been done.
Supporters took to social media to share their disappointment with their new man with some fans even saying he was defending like a schoolboy.
Here are some of the best messages posted to Twitter in response to Mustafi’s performance:
Mustafi is over working. He's trying to impress so hard 😂😂😂

If you look at Squawka stats you would think Mustafi is peak Maldini but when you watch him play he is Calum Chambers with a German passport

Worry about Cavani!!! Why the hell Mustafi isn't tighter to Cavani here I'll never know. pic.twitter.com/5aV4xoNEXf

Shkodran Mustafi all over the place here, lost Cavani for the goal, distracted by a second ball, being bemused by PS-G quick movement. #afc

How much was Mustafi again? That's schoolboy defending, classic example of an average player being hyped because he's at a "big" club.

Poor if I'm honest… Mustafi poor first 10mins but got better. Lucas not in the game at all yet

The central-defender was one of three senior additions to the Arsenal squad this summer.
Mustafi has been joined by Granit Xhaka and Lucas Perez in the north Londoners team, but the new-look Arsenal side were powerless to prevent P.S.G taking a valuable point from the fixture.
Arsene Wenger will now return his thoughts to domestic football after the draw.
His side take on Hull City in the Premier League this weekend and will be looking to make it 10 points from their first five fixtures this term.
Wengers side have lost one, draw one and won two of their four domestic encounters so far.
