Eunan O’Kane made his debut for Leeds in their 2-1 win against Blackburn on Tuesday evening and fans have praised the midfielder for his performance.
O’Kane, 26, joined Leeds on a two-year-deal from Bournemouth in August but had not played for the club until the clash at Elland Road.
The Northern Ireland international started alongside Liam Bridcutt in central midfield and was part of a much-improved display before was replaced by Alex Mowatt after 83 minutes.
Goals from Chris Wood and Kyle Bartley saw off a 77th minute striker from Marvin Emnes to secure the three points for Garry Monk’s team.
Supporters on social media praised O’Kane’s performance with one fan demanding the midfielder receive a new six-year contract at the club.
Here are a collection of the messages on Twitter:

Give O'Kane a bit of time in this side and he'll be a lynch pin in this midfield. #lufc

Massive win. Sacko, Jansson and Bartley fantastic. O'kane looks class at this level. On to Saturday. #lufc

For what it's worth…huge win but Blackburn are dross. Pontus strong, O'Kane tidy, Sacko in and out but important quality. Wood did well.

Leeds have struggled under new manager Gary Monk this season.
Monk has now overseen losses to Queens Park Rangers, Birmingham, Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield in his brief time in charge of the Whites and will now be hoping for a swift change of fortunes at Elland Road.
Leeds had been touted as potential play-off challengers this season but early form suggests promotion may already been out of reach.
Monk will now be preparing his side to face Cardiff on Saturday lunchtime.
In other Leeds team news, Noel Whelan hailed the performance of Hadi Sacko against Blackburn.
