Arsenal have announced the signing of defender Rob Holding from Bolton, and fans of the Gunners have taken to Twitter to discuss Arsene Wenger’s latest recruit.
Arsenal announced the signing on their club website on Friday.
The England Under-21 international is a versatile defender capable of playing at either centre-back or full-back – here’s what the fans have to say about the new addition:
I’ve watched selected clips of new Arsenal youngster Rob Holding in a 140 second video on YouTube and he is better than Vidic & Ferdinand.

Rob Holding would be class if rumours are to be believed #afcb

Signing Rob Holding is important, if we think he’s good enough. Having 3/4 of our future back four as homegrown would be great news.

Why can’t arsenal sign someone decent. WTF is Rob holding? Won’t solve defensive issues.

Despite the fact that some tweeters seem unaware of who Holding is, the youngster made 30 appearances last term and was a shining light in Bolton’s wretched campaign that ended in relegation to League One.
He was named Bolton’s Player of the Year last season, and was part of Gareth Southgate’s tournament-winning under-21 side that also included new team-mate Calum Chambers.
The 20-year-old will face stiff competition from the current crop of Arsenal centre-backs for an immediate first-team place, with senior players Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertescaker, Gabriel and Chambers expected to be higher in the pecking order.
In other Arsenal transfer news, they have issued a hands-off warning to Premier League rivals who are interested in defender Hector Bellerin.
