Celtic fans have mocked their team’s chances against Barcelona on Tuesday evening after seeing Kolo Toure start in defence against Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Toure, who was part of his side’s 5-1 win over arch rivals Rangers on Saturday, survived two changes to start the European clash.

Brendan Rodgers brought in Cristian Gamboa and Patrick Roberts to replace Tom Rogic and James Forrest for the fixture.

Fans on Twitter mocked the mismatch in ability between the Barcelona forward-line and the 35-year-old Hoops defender.

Here are a selection of some of Twitters best posts about the line-up:

Toure signed from Liverpool this summer on a free-transfer to rejoin Rodgers at Parkhead.

The pair enjoyed two seasons together at Anfield in which Toure featured 47 times, scoring three goals and providing five assists for his club.

Rodgers will be aiming to guide his new side to their sixth successive domestic title win but his main aim will be progressing well in the Champions League this term.

The Glasgow giants have beat the Lincoln Red Imps, FC Astana and Hapoel Be’er Sheva to reach the group stages of the competition.

In other Celtic team news, Suarez has revealed that Barcelona are aware of Celtic’s attacking talent ahead of the Champions League meeting on Tuesday.
