Key Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Jan Vertonghen will both miss the team’s next Champions League match against Apoel Nicosia.
Alli will serve the second match of a three-game European suspension carried over from Spurs’ 2-2 Europa League draw against Gent last season.
Vertonghen will join Alli on the sidelines for the fixture away to Apoel in a fortnight’s time after his last-minute sending-off in Wednesday’s 3-1 Champions League triumph against Borussia Dortmund.
Spurs ended the game with 10 men as defender Vertonghen was shown a second yellow card for catching Dortmund substitute Mario Gotze with a swinging arm.
The Dutchman will serve a one-match suspension and is out of the trio to Cyprus on 26 September.
The victory against Dortmund was just the second win of Tottenham’s tenancy at Wembley, which includes all of last season’s home Champions League group stage games and two Premier League matches this campaign.
