Turkish side Trabzonspor are set to offer Aston Villa’s Micah Richards a fresh start after he’s failed to convince Steve Bruce that he has a future in the midlands, according to a report.
The Mirror claim that the former England defender is considered surplus to requirements after making just three appearances for Villa this season.
They claim that Trabzonspor boss Ersun Yanal wants him and is ready to make his move during the January transfer window.
Richards was given another chance by Bruce who gave him a start in his first game in charge against Wolves.
The defender picked up an injury in the game however and hasn’t recovered yet, and it looks like he could be shown the door in January, with the report saying Steve Bruce is ready to let him leave.
Villa had been looking to move Richards on over the summer but didn’t find any takers for the player who joined them on a free transfer from Manchester City in 2015.
The 28-year-old has made 31 appearances for the club in all competitions and scored two goals.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, the manager has revealed his masterplan to turn the club into promotions contenders.
