Vaclav Cerny produced a breathtaking piece of skill for Ajax that has made trademarked by Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.
The Czech Under-21 international took the ball on the run during the Dutch side’s 4-0 victory over FC Twente on Sunday after instantly killing a driven pass with his left foot.
The 18-year-old winger plucked Nemanja Gudelj’s long pass out the sky with the side of his left foot and barely broke his stride before racing into the penalty area to fashion a chance that was snuffed out by the visiting defence.
Ozil, a man who is no stranger to seeing his own chance creations go to waste for Arsenal, has registered 18 assists in the Premier League this term, showcasing some exquisite touches along the way.
Ajax youngster Cerny appears to have a different skill set to that of the Gunners’ playmaker, boasting a serious turn of pace which best serves him down the channel as opposed to orchestrating attacks like the German World Cup winner from central positions.
However, this did not stop the Czech Republic Under 21 international from mirroring the German’s sublime control as evidenced in the Eredivisie’s top team’s latest win.
