Midfielder Gary Gardner scored his first ever goal for Aston Villa in their local derby with rivals Birmingham, and his 29th minute header sent his team’s fans wild.
Gardner, 24, scored with an incredible looping header after a free kick from Jordan Ayew, before racing to celebrate with the away fans in jubilant scenes.
The goal came against the run of play and Villa managed to hold onto their lead until the 70th minute, when David Davis equalised with a fine shot from the edge of the Villa penalty area.
Aston Villa brought on Gabby Agbonlahor in his first appearance of the season in the 81st minute in a bid to snatch the three points, but the game ended 1-1 and the points were shared.

The result moves Aston Villa up to 15th place in the Championship as Steve Bruce’s team jump ahead of Ipswich in their push for a play-off place.
It means that Steve Bruce is still undefeated after four games in charge of Villa, with two wins and two draws on his record.
In other Aston Villa news, this senior man has joked that the only team Steve Bruce would leave Villa for is Real Madrid.
