Liverpool striker Sadio Mane has revealed Gini Wijnaldum to be the funniest member of the Reds squad.
Both Mane and Wijnaldum joined Anfield this summer from Newcastle and Southampton respectively.
The former Toon star cost Jurgen Klopp’s side £25million and has already settled into life on Merseyside.
“The funniest person in the Liverpool squad is Gini Wijnaldum,” Mane told the Liverpool Twitter account. “This boy is so funny man, so funny.”
Wijnaldum, 25, has already played five games for his new side this season, providing two assists along the way.
His teammate, Daniel Sturridge, is often credited with being one of the most boisterous members of the Liverpool dressing room, but the forward may now have competition on his hands after the arrival of Wijnaldum this summer.
Klopp seems to have fostered a positive spirit during his short time at the club and fans will now be hoping to see the results of their team’s strong chemistry reflected in results.
Liverpool currently sit fifth in the Premier League having picked up seven points from their first four Premier League games.
Klopp’s side have already beaten Leicester and Arsenal this term, scoring four goals in both matches, but a 2-0 loss to Burnley and a 1-1 draw against Tottenham at White Hart Lane has hampered their progress.
They now face a trip to Stamford bridge to play Chelsea on Friday evening.
In other Liverpool news, Danny Ings scored after just three minutes for Liverpool as he played in the Under-23s match against Leicester – and the club’s supporters are desperate for him to be recalled to the first team.
