Newcastle fans are disappointed but not dismayed on Twitter after it emerged that Everton had pulled the plug on Brendan Galloway’s move to Tyneside.
The 20-year-old has been on Newcastle’s radar recently as manager Rafa Benitez looks to sign a new left-back with doubts surrounding the future of duo Paul Dummett and Massadio Haidara.

The Toffees’ reported decision will come as a major setback to Newcastle, who played centre-back Ciaran Clark out-of-position at left-back in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Bristol City.
Galloway impressed after breaking into the Toffees’ first-team during the early part of last season under Roberto Martinez, and is also interesting Premier League side West Brom.
Fans are unimpressed at the Merseyside club’s decision to call the deal off.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Rumours are Everton have pulled the plug on Galloway loan so I guess it's back to the drawing board for a defender ? #NUFC

Shame if we miss out on Galloway but not a disaster. But we definitely need RW & ST as a minimum espeicially with others leaving #NUFC

Reports that we're set to miss out on Galloway after weeks of rumours he was signing. This is a bit of a joke. #nufc

Shame to miss out on Galloway maybe, but not the end of the world on that one….there's 2 Man Utd LB's available who'd be quality #nufc

@NUFC_Index Gotta say I'm not bothered about Galloway, purely because I don't want players we can't sign. I don't like grooming for others.

The youngster made 19 appearances for the club as he filled in impressively at left-back while Leighton Baines and Bryan Oviedo were injured.
In other Newcastle transfer news, this playmaker is set to return home after completing a medical.
