Arsene Wenger revealed he is most concerned about the injury suffered by Aaron Ramsey after losing three players in Arsenal’s FA Cup win over Hull on Tuesday night.

The Gunners thrashed the Championship side 4-0 in the replay at the KC Stadium but their progress to the quarter-final stage of the competition came at a cost.

Ramsey, Per Mertesacker and Gabriel all sustained injuries during the fifth-round replay.

Mertesacker was substituted after 33 minutes with an eye injury and Gabriel and Ramsey were taken off in the second half with what appeared to be muscle injuries.

“I’m a bit under shock,” Wenger told BT Sport afterwards. “We lost our two centre-backs and after that we lost Ramsey.

“Mertesacker is not serious, just a bit of concussion. Gabiel looks alright, Ramsey I am a bit more concerned about. It is a muscular [one], a thigh injury.”

Key midfielder Ramsey, who had been rested ahead of a series of pivotal matches, had been the substitute for Gabriel and only lasted on the pitch for 16 minutes.

Arsenal’s win over Hull keeps alive their hopes of a third consecutive FA Cup triumph and means they will host Watford in the quarter-final on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger is already without Petr Cech for a month, while Laurent Koscielny has missed the last three matches with a calf injury and has been rated doubtful for the weekend by the manager.

In other Arsenal injury news, the club’s medical team have revealed that Jack Wilshere is close to regaining full fitness.
