Arsene Wenger was delighted with his team’s performance as they thrashed Ludogorets 6-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday, but warned that they had to keep their feet on the ground.

Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring on Wednesday night at the Emirates before Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made the points safe.

To put the icing on top Mesut Ozil scored his first professional hat-trick in the second half to complete the rout.

Talking after the game on TV Wenger said, “Let’s not be too quick on the verdict. We have a strong squad and a strong spirit, but you have to keep your feet on the ground.”

Wenger was also full of praise for Mesut Ozil who has contributed less in the way of assists this season, but more goals.

“He’s got more of a taste to score goals because he’s running in behind more. He’s playing with confidence.”

He also singled out Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi for praise in the heart of the Arsenal defence.

“Koscielny and Mustafi have been very interesting and very efficient. They have a great understanding.”

Arsenal face Middlesbrough at home in the Premier League next on Saturday afternoon before travelling to Reading for an EFL Cup tie.

The north London club is currently second in the Premier League, behind to Manchester City on goal difference.

By contrast, Man City lost 4-0 away at Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.

In other Arsenal team news, two La Liga clubs have said they’re interested in this Arsenal attacking player.
