West Ham striker Diafra Sakho has appeared to have refuted claims that he is undergoing a medical at West Brom via the picture sharing social media app Snapchat.
Some media outlets, including the Daily Mail have claimed that Sakho has already started undergoing a medical for the Baggies, but the 26-year-old has apparently rebuffed those claims.
Sakho took to Snapchat to share his message. He said: “Who says I’m going to do a medical?”
The Mail report says West Brom have agreed a £16million deal for Sakho, with £10million up front and the remainder in add-ons.
Unless the Sakho message is a hoax or a joke, it appears that there might have been just hitch in the transfer.
It was thought that the Senegalese star had been angling for a move away from the Olympic Stadium this summer as he reportedly refused to go on the club’s pre-season tour of Austria after he handed in a transfer request.
This followed Sky Sports‘ report that Sunderland had made an £11million bid, which was rejected by the Hammers.
Recently appointed England boss Sam Allardyce brought the forward to the English game two years ago while in charge at West Ham, costing £3.5million to secure his services from FC Metz.
The striker impressed during his stay in France, winning the Ligue 2 division in 2013/14 and being named the Player of the Year in that season with 20 goals.
Since his move to England the 26-year-old has made 44 appearances and scored a respectable 15 goals.
In other West Ham transfer news, David Gold has revealed that the Hammers will complete two new signings imminently.
