West Ham supporters were left unhappy on Twitter with Slavan Bilic’s decision to play Michail Antonio upfront against Chelsea on Wednesday evening.
The Hammers star is more natural to a wide role and with the more natural strikers in Simone Zaza and Ashley Fletcher on the bench, fans of the east London club were left disappointed.
However, Bilic had named a strong team for the EFL Cup tie at the London Stadium with Darren Randolph and Aaron Cresswell the only changes to the side seeing Adrian and Zaza drop out.

Fans on social media were left wondering about Bilic’s decision, with many questioning why a more natural forward wasn’t starting against Antonio Conte’s misshapen side.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Michail Antonio playing up front once again. Tells you a lot about #WHUFC's poor recruitement during the summer.

Ffs, decent team until I see Antonio up front. Now I've said that, he will have a great game. The lad deserves a rest ffs. #WHUFC

Interesting team selection. I assume that Antonio is going up front with Fernandes on the right? Good to see Randolph get a game #WHUFC ⚒

Antonio moved to east London last summer in a £7million move from Championship side Nottingham Forest.
The highly-rated wideman has been in good form in front of goal in the new campaign with five goals from 14 appearances.
He has also featured in the last two England squads as he looks to continue his progression into one of the Premier League’s best attacker after starting in the non league.
In other West Ham news, a Sky Sports pundit has predicted the outcome of the club’s match against Chelsea.
