West Ham fans have reacted on Twitter after Dimitri Payet failed to recapture his brilliant best during the Hammers’ 1-1 draw against Stoke.
Payet, who starred at Euro 2016 for finalists France, was largely quiet against the Potters despite providing the assist for Michail Antonio’s second-half header, which was cancelled out by Spaniard Bojan.
The Hammers’ Player of the Year has failed to hit the heights of last season, as Slaven Bilic’s side struggle towards the bottom of the Premier League with just three domestic wins to their name.
Payet has scored just two goals this season for the East London outfit, but has provided six assists in his 11 league and cup encounters.
West Ham fans took to Twitter to express their frustration at the performance of their French superstar, with many claiming that the former Marseille forward was one of the Hammers’ worst performers.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Payet’s poor performance against Stoke comes after a dismal showing during the Hammers’ 2-0 loss to Everton last week, with the 29-year-old looking sluggish in claret and blue.
Since his move to East London, Payet has score a hugely impressive 17 goals in 54 league and cup appearances despite playing from out wide. West Ham’s number 27 has also provided a total of 22 assists in his West Ham career.
In other West Ham news, David Gold has revealed that this senior Hammers star has fully recovered from injury.
