There was mixed emotions from West Ham fans on Twitter after it emerged that Slaven Bilic could make a January loan move for Cesc Fabregas.

The Mirror have reported that The Hammers are looking to land the midfielder, who has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea.

The east London club is hoping their offer of regular first-team football will be enough to entice the Spain international to depart Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is prepared to let Fabregas leave in the winter transfer window.

It is reported that the west London club are even willing to subsidise the midfielder’s £160,000-a-week wages.

While there were mixed reactions by West Ham fans to the news that Payet may be leaving the club, the overall response to the speculation that Fabregas could move to the club on loan is quite dismissive.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Fabregas, 29, has struggled to establish himself as a first-team player under Antonio Conte, and has played just 87 minutes of Premier League football this season.

He has not featured for Chelsea since being subbed in the 55th-minute when his side were 3-0 down to Arsenal in September.

With Payet attracting a lot of interest from clubs across Europe, West Ham are widely expected to move for Fabregas.

In other West Ham transfer news, the club have also shortlisted Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic as a January transfer target.
