Leeds have rejected a £7million bid form West Ham for Charlie Taylor, according to a report.

Football website HITC claim the Premier League club tried to test Leeds’ resolve by tabling the mega offer last week as they searched for a new left-back to replace the injured Aaron Cresswell.

But Leeds turned down the bid for their Player of the Year and West Ham subsequently signed Olympiakos left-back Arthur Masuaku on Monday for a fee of £6.2million.

Leeds released a statement last Tuesday to confirm that a transfer request had been submitted by Taylor but said it had been rejected and the 22-year-old would not be sold this summer.

Taylor has firmly established himself as Leeds’ first-choice left-back and made 42 appearances for the Whites last season, chipping in with seven assists.

However, he has less than 12 months remaining on his Elland Road deal, and Leeds risk losing him on a free after rejecting the East London side’s offer.

In other West Ham transfer news, this Real Madrid sensation could be moving to London sooner rather than later.
