West Ham will join the race to sign 17-year-old wonderkid Naza Bazan Vera from Velez Sarsfield despite huge Premier League interest, according to a report.

The Sun reports that Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are already believed to be interested in the youngster but the Hammers are now prepared to challenge their rivals for his signature.

The new addition would add further strength to West Ham’s academy, which has struggled in recent years to produce top talent.

Slaven Bilic and the academy made a number of new signings throughout the summer as they look to improve, including Manchester United starlet Ashley Fletcher.

West Ham also did business with London rivals Chelsea when they signed Domingos Quina, and Antonio Martinez was also brought in from Valencia.

Vera is a promising young attacker who has been compared to Juventus star Paulo Dybala and is highly thought of in Argentina.

He is currently training with the Argentine outfit’s first-team squad and is expecting an early call-up to the Under-20 national team.

Velez Sarsfield currently play in the Argentine Primera Division, which produced former Hammers striker Mauro Zarate.
