West Ham are one of three clubs chasing Newcastle star Daryl Janmaat, according to a report.

The 27-year-old, who signed for the Magpies from Feyenoord two years ago, is also reportedly interesting Watford and Napoli and could leave, despite playing in two of Newcastle’s three Championship matches this season.

Goal claim that the three clubs are preparing an offer for the right-back even though he has four years still to run on his St James’ Park deal.

The Hammers are in the market for a right-back, after makeshift defender Michail Antonio gave away a penalty following another mistake against Chelsea on Monday night. West Ham only have Sam Byram as an alternative.

The report claims that the Magpies could command a hefty transfer fee for the Holland international, and there is no cheap release clause following relegation.

Rafael Benitez could allow Janmaat to leave and play at a higher level, after confirming the signing of versatile Champions League defender Jesus Gamez on a free transfer from Atletico Madrid.

Janmaat joined the Magpies from Feyenoord in a £5million deal in 2014 signing a six-year contract.

The Holland international made 32 appearances for Newcastle in their doomed Premier League campaign, but did bag two goals and four assists.

In other West Ham transfer news, this young striker could be heading out on-loan to this Championship giant.
