West Ham have opened talks with Aston Villa over an £8million deal to sign Jordan Ayew, according to a report.

The Sun claim the Hammers began negotiations with the Championship club earlier this week about buying the Villa striker.

It is said that Ayew is keen to quit Villa Park and return to the Premier League after he was one of the few players from the Midlands club to deliver the goods last season.

The reported interest in Ayew comes as West Ham close in on a deal to sign his brother Andre from Swansea for a fee believed to be around the £20million mark.

Slaven Bilic is keen to reunite the pair for the first time since their Marseille days in an attempt to bolster his front line.

Following The Hammers 3-0 win over NK Domzale in their Europa League qualifier on Thursday night, Bilic will need a larger squad to both compete domestically and in Europe in the club’s first season at their new Olympic Stadium.

Bilic has already spoken about how the lure of European football will help his side capture some of the best names around .

The 24-year-old scored seven times in his 28 appearances for Villa following his move from Lorient in 2015, and been capped by Ghana 37 times.
