Adrian is set to start in West Ham’s clash against Bournemouth on Sunday after evading injury against Chelsea on Monday night.
The keeper took to Instagram to highlight how relieved he is not to be injured after Diego Costa’s lunge on him in the Hammers’ 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday night.
The Spanish keeper is still waiting for an apology from the striker and posted this photo on Instagram in the aftermath of the London derby.
“Disappointed about last night,” Adrian posted on the social media site Instagram accompanied by an image of Costa’s horror tackle. “Thank god my leg is okay after that, could’ve been much worse.”
West Ham will be looking to secure their first points of the season on Sunday as they play their first Premier League game at their new Olympic Stadium home.
Adrian is set to start in goal for after Slaven Bilic revealed that he is the the first choice, while Darren Randolph is the club’s Europa League and cup goalkeeper.
Spanish striker Costa escaped a red card for the challenge, and then rubbed salt into the Hammers’ wounds when he went on to score the winner in the closing minutes to secure all three points for Chelsea.
Adrian went on to show the marks left by Costa to the man himself and the referee on the night of the game, but no action was taken.
After escaping a suspension, Costa then went on to score the Blues’ late winner in their 2-1 away win against Watford on Saturday afternoon.
Chelsea now have six points out of a possible six under new manager Antonio Conte, who has made a fine transition into Premier League football.
Chelsea’s next fixture is at home to Bristol Rovers in the second round of the English League Cup on Tuesday night at Stamford Bridge.
