West Ham defender James Tomkins has not travelled with the rest of the squad on their pre-season tour of America, according to reports.

Sky Sports claim that the 27-year-old will not be taking part in the tour, ahead of a proposed £12.5million move to Crystal Palace this summer.

The report says that no fee has been agreed for the Hammers academy star but it now seems likely that a deal will reached before the start of the 2016-17 Premier League season.

Tomkins has played 32 times for his club in the recently completed domestic season as Slaven Bilic’s team finished seventh in the Premier League, but he is not expected to be at the club as they prepare for Europa League football at the Olympic Stadium next season.

The West Ham man has never played for another team since a loan spell with Derby County eight years ago and despite training with the east London outfit on Friday morning, now looks set to leave the club.

The Basildon-born defender is contracted to the club until 2020 but is believed to be heading towards the exit door, ending his 19 year relationship with his boyhood side.

In other West Ham news, Dimitri Payet’s agent has claimed only Hammers chiefs know what it would take to prise the playmaker from the club this summer.
