West Ham have tabled mega bids for strikers Michy Batshuayi and Simone Zaza, according to a report.
The Hammers have made clear their ambitions to spend big on attacking talent in the forthcoming transfer window.
Now a columnist called the Insider has claimed on the official West Ham website that the club are pulling out all the stops to land prolific Marseille striker Batshuayi and Juventus hitman Zaza.
It is also said that the Hammers are working on a deal to land Besiktas midfield anchorman Atiba Hutchinson.
Batshuayi revealed last month that he was keen on a move to the Premier League alerting both West Ham and Spurs but it is said the £31million price tag looks to have put Tottenham off pursuing the forward.
Batshuayi, who is currently at Euro 2016 with the Belgium squad, scored 24 goals and supplied 10 assists in 51 matches in all competitions this season, including 17 goals and nine assists from 36 Ligue 1 encounters.
Zaza has spent much of this season on the bench for Juventus but West Ham will still face a battle to acquire the services of the £15million-rated spearhead.
“It is my understanding that reports stating that we have made substantial bids for Batshuayi and Zaza are correct but there are no imminent moves in the pipeline,” wrote the Insider.
“Reports this week have also stated that the Hammers have made an offer for Besiktas midfielder Atiba Hutchinson.
“I have been told that the Canadian international is a target for the Club and they are waiting to see if a deal can materialise in the near future.”
Besiktas president Fikret Orman has gone public with the bid submitted by West Ham manager Slaven Bilic for midfield anchorman Hutchinson, who has one year left on his contract.
“[Slaven] Bilic suggested three million euros [£2.3million] for Atiba,” Orman said, as quoted by the Mirror. “We rejected this proposal and thank him.”
West Ham are ready to smash their club record transfer fee this summer of £15.5million, which was spent to entice Andy Carroll from Liverpool in the summer of 2013.
Carroll is comfortably the Hammers’ record signing, although the club have also spent £10million-plus fees on the likes of Payet, Enner Valencia and Angel Ogbonna.
In other West Ham transfer news, teen sensation Reece Oxford is increasingly likely to leave the club this summer.
