Tottenham will be reliant on Danny Rose to continue his good form against West Ham.
Spurs host the Hammers on Saturday in the Premier League and Mauricio Pochettino will be aware of the serious threat posed down the opposition’s right wing.
West Ham operated with Manuel Lanzini and Michail Antonio on the right during their 1-1 draw against Stoke in their last game, with manager Slaven Bilic deploying a 3-4-3 formation.
Lanzini and Antonio are two of West Ham’s most potent attackers and will look to get the away side on the front foot.
Englishman Antonio has developed into a serious threat in the air and it is something that the small figure of Rose will need to be aware of.
Rose, 26, has been one of Spurs’ most consistent performers this season and a key part of the best defence in the league, conceding just six goals in the opening 11 games.
The defender continued his good form during the international break and has cemented his place as England’s first-choice left-back ahead of Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand.
He has made eight appearances in all competitions for the north London club this campaign, scoring one goal and supplying one assist as he shows his attack-minded style.
Rose could be called upon to demonstrate his defensive qualities against the dangerous Lanzini and Payet, who are both full of skill and pace.
The left-back is seriously nippy himself but could need support from winger Christian Eriksen when they are without possession.
In other Tottenham news, this player must start performing on Saturday or risk losing his place.
