Wolves fans have called for Sam Allardyce to replace Walter Zenga on Twitter following the Italian’s sacking on Tuesday afternoon.
The club announced on their official club website via a statement that Zenga had departed the club following the weekend’s 1-0 loss against Garry Monk’s Leeds team.
Zenga took charge on August 1st and was at the helm for just 14 Championship matches, only picking up four victories.
Now fans have begun speculating about their next manager on social media, with many keen to see Allardyce on the touchline, who recently left his job as England boss after one game in charge.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Allardyce, 62, is from Dudley and may be keen for a move to a club closer to home at his age.
The experienced boss has also had his name tarnished following his spell with England, in which he was relieved from his duties following allegations of malpractice.
He may have to drop to the Championship in order to find a new club, but fans would clearly be impressed if the former Bolton boss was appointed.
During his 25-year managerial career he has taken charge of a number of clubs including Sunderland, West Ham, Newcastle and Blackburn, as well as impressing at the Trotters.
In other Wolves news, fans reacted on Twitter to Zenga’s departure.
