YouTube sensation Joe Weller has hit out at former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher after suffering a ‘robust’ challenge in a friendly charity match.

The pair were pitted against each other in an exhibition game between Spencer FC and Weller Wanderers at Wembley.

The teams were made up of online celebrities, YouTube stars and former professional footballers but Carragher did not hold back from putting in some heavy tackles.

The Reds ace looked to have caught Weller with a trailing leg and issued the youngster with a foul-mouthed rant before going on to push what looked like an elbow into fellow YouTube star Theo Baker.

“Fair enough,” Weller told his YouTube channel, “for the majority of the game I was in his back pocket. He’s a professional footballer who played in the Premier League two seasons ago!”

“But why are you elbowing people in the face? And just kicking me? What are you doing?”

“When he did foul me, he would never say sorry or show an ounce of class.

“I mean, a 40-year-old bloke! What are you doing? Just grow up!”

Weller, who has amassed 3.7million subscribers on YouTube and 813,000 followers on Twitter, has gained his fame through the social media platforms.

He might have asked for the special attention though, after tweeting the Liverpool star before the game.

Carragher developed a reputation as a no-nonsense central-defender in his 17-year stay at Liverpool and won the Champions League, the FA Cup, the UEFA Cup and the Community Shield in his time on Merseyside.

In other Liverpool team news, Joe Allen is looking forward to regular first-team football and playing a new role for his club, following his £13million move from Liverpool in July.
