Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is predicting another defeat for West Ham United in new manager David Moyes’ first home game in charge of the club.
The Hammers face Watford in Premier League action at the London Stadium on Friday night with Merson predicting more misery for their supporters.
Merson told Sky Sports that he is predicting a 3-1 victory for the away side and another defeat for the Hammers.
“Massive game, and I’m going for Leicester. I think this is a nightmare game for West Ham. Firstly, they’re not playing well, and Leicester are a counter-attacking team,” Merson wrote on the Sky Sports website.
Merson also questioned Moyes for the way he criticised some of his players after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at Watford in his first game in charge of the club.
“He criticised some of them for their performances; you say that to the players in the dressing room, don’t come out and say it on your first day! The players won’t be happy with that, no way.”
Moyes replaced former boss Salven Bilic earlier this month and signed a six month contract with the London club.
West Ham are currently third-from-bottom in the table and are without a win in their last five Premier League games. They also possess the league’s worst defensive record, having conceded 25 goals.
Meanwhile, their opponents Leicester are 12th in the table under their new manager Claude Puel. The 2015 Premier League champions have won their last six matches against the Hammers in all competitions.
The last Premier League meeting between the two sides at the London Stadium was in March this year and resulted in a 3-2 victory for Leicester.
