25-year-old Championship full-back delivers Leeds verdict, identifies main threat

Newcastle full-back Paul Dummett has shared that he believes Leeds have a “really good squad” and has identified forward Chris Wood as the main threat ahead of the Good Friday clash.
The two Championship giants are gearing up to face each other at St. James Park in a meeting which will see second take on fifth.
The two sides last met in November at Elland Road with Rafa Benitez’ team earning a 2-0 victory with Dwight Gayle bagging twice.
Now, the Magpies’ star striker will be out of the clash through injury and Dummett, 25, feels Leeds are most dangerous in their forward position, identifying Wood when asked who the Yorkshire side’s main threat was.
“From the start of the season I don’t think many people would have thought Leeds would be in the position they’re in at the moment,” started Dummett speaking to BBC Newcastle.

“They’ve put a really good squad together and like you say with the threat they have in Chris Wood. He’s banged so many goals in this season, so we know it’s going to be a really difficult game. It’s going to be really difficult for us, but like I said before we’ve got the quality in our team to know that we can be better than anyone in this league.
“On our home pitch it’s been difficult this season with teams coming to sit back against us, but against Leeds you know they’re fighting for something and we’re fighting for something as well.
“They won’t just come and sit back, so I think these kind of games probably suit us better.”
Wood has been in fine form under Garry Monk this season with the 25-year-old returning a stunning 24 Championship goals in 39 league appearances.
He has been key to the club’s high placing and he will be eager to help Leeds end their 13-year wait for Premier League football.
With 12 points currently separating the Monk’s side from the automatic promotion spots with five matches left, it is likely Leeds will have to go through the lottery of the play-offs if they are to achieve promotion and many will be keeping their fingers crossed that Wood remains fit.
