26-year-old Liverpool ace shares message with fans after win v West Brom

By Matt Bullin

Liverpool and England defender Nathaniel Clyne has delivered his verdict on the Reds’ win over West Brom on Sunday, celebrating another clean sheet.

Clyne played 90 minutes for Liverpool as Roberto Firmino scored late in the first half to secure a huge three points for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Simon Mignolet also had to be in fine form to deny Matty Phillips late on, while Alberto Moreno spurned a golden chance to double Liverpool’s lead in injury time.

The 26-year-old right-back has been ever present in Liverpool’s back line this campaign and has featured in 32 of their 33 league matches.

Liverpool kept only their eighth Premier League clean sheet of the season against West Brom and Clyne was keen to praise his fellow defenders after the match.

The 14-time England international wrote on his personal Twitter account: “3 points and a CLEAN SHEET!!!”

The win lifts Liverpool to third in the table – moving above Manchester City by two points, although Pep Guardiola’s side do have a game in hand.

Nevertheless, the three points is a huge step for Klopp and his team in their quest for a top-four finish.

Next up for Liverpool and Clyne is a home clash with an in-form Crystal Palace side next Sunday.

In other Liverpool news, Carragher has branded this 29-year-old as ‘outstanding’ and the difference between the sides in Liverpool’s win v West Brom.
