27-year-old starts after stunning Heck revelation – Leeds expected XI v Norwich

Paul Heckingbottom dropped a stunning truth bomb in his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Asked about his future at the club, Heckingbottom said there had been “no changes” before saying the next two games would be important for his future.

The inference is that if he loses to Norwich on Saturday and then QPR, that his job could be in danger and that puts huge significance on the first game at Carrow Road tomorrow.

It means that he’s likely to pick his strongest side and that should mean a start for 27-year-old Samu Saiz despite a bad reaction from the star attacker when he was subbed against Barnsley in the last game out.

Heckingbottom might be a stickler for discipline but not when his job’s on the line and Saiz should get the nod in maybe one of his last two outings for Leeds.

In fact, after winning for only the third time since he took over, we think Heckingbottom will make just the one change, with Adam Forshaw replacing Kalvin Phillips in midfield.

Luke Ayling and Laurens de Bock are back in training but the game comes too soon for Ayling and de Bock wouldn’t replace Tom Pearce on his current form.

Here is the team we expect Heckingbottom to name to take on Norwich:
