Arsenal 28-year-old transfer virtually certain to happen in the summer - reliable journalist

By Harry Sykes

Arsenal attacker Lucas Perez is almost certain to quit the club at the end of the season, according to a reliable journalist.

Bleacher Report correspondent Dean Jones has claimed in his Inside Football column that he is told Perez, 28, is “frustrated” with his role at Emirates Stadium.

Perez is unhappy at being back-up for both the main spearhead and wide forward roles at Arsenal, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Olivier Giroud, Alex Iwobi, Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all ahead of him in the pecking order.

Jones reports that the Spaniard is aware that possible transfer avenues have already opened up for this summer’s window.

Two clubs in England are assessing him closely ahead of a potential swoop, while La Liga outfit Sevilla are also keeping close tabs on player’s availability.

Perez joined Arsenal in a £17million deal from Deportivo La Coruna last summer after Arsene Wenger gave the green light to trump Everton to his signature.

The forward has emerged as a favourite of the Arsenal fans, many of whom are baffled at his lack of game time.

Perez has made only two league starts and one Champions League start for Arsenal this season, but has an impressive record of seven goals from 18 appearances in all competitions.

In other Arsenal transfer news, this Premier League club are looking to swoop one of the club’s prize assets.
