Paris Saint-Germain have spent over £200 million over the summer transfer window after signing Barcelona ace Neymar, in addition to left-back Yuri Berchiche.
Dani Alves also joined the French side on a free transfer, and it looks as though Alexis Sanchez could join the former Barcelona star in what would be a contentious move given his status as Arsenal’s talisman and outstanding player.
The Chilean’s future is in major doubt as he has entered the final year of his contract.
Football Insider verdict
Sanchez has been linked with a number of clubs over the summer and questions over his future with Arsenal have been up in the air for some months. What’s strange is Wenger’s adamance that the Chilean will stay put, despite the whirlwind of reports. Losing Sanchez would be a massive blow for the club, but at this stage the attacker has made it clear that he doesn’t want to remain and there is nothing worse for a club’s morale. The club have remained strong and successful over the past few weeks with their new signings in the Community Shield and in their Premier League opener against Leicester. Wenger knows that PSG clearly have huge funds to spent and could ramp up the asking price for the Chile international.
