Arsenal host Man United at the Emirates this Sunday as they look to bounce back from a disappointing defeat last weekend.

Arsene Wenger’s side were beaten 1-0 by Spurs last time out and currently sit in sixth, but with a win over the Red Devils they can close the gap on them to two points.

The match earlier in the season ended in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, so the Gunners will be hoping to go one better on Sunday, here is three things you can expect from the game.

A Welbeck goal

Players score against their former clubs more often than not and I see no reason why Welbeck will be an exception. After spending much of the season on the sidelines through injury the 26-year-old will be chomping at the bit to score some goals as the campaign draws to a close. Man United’s defence has been relatively solid this term, but Welbeck’s pace and strength can cause problems for any defence on his day. The England international has made 20 minute cameos in the Gunners’ last two games, so Welbeck should be fit to start, and the Emirates faithful will hope he is fit to score.

Monreal will struggle

The 31-year-old is in decent form having scored two goals in his last three, and defensively, he has been one of the Gunners’ most dependable players. But he looked out of his depth against a powerful Spurs side last week, and turned in a distinctly average performance. The 31-year-old will be up against the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford on Sunday – both have bundles of pace and will prove a stern test for the Spaniard. He could be destroyed.

Sanchez to put himself in the shop window

Alexis Sanchez’s contract dispute has been one of the ongoing sagas of the season, but he normally performs against the top clubs. This could be because he wants to up his game and carry the Gunners to victory in the big matches, or it could be that he just wants to perform to his best ability while the world is watching and alert scouts to just how good he really is. Either way, after going missing against Spurs last time, the Chilean will look to make a big impact at the Emirates on Sunday.
