Rangers may find themselves in need of one or two new centre-forwards in the summer transfer window if there is to be more bids tabled for Alfredo Morelos.
However fans will soon forget about the 21-year-old if they were to cash in on him and sign Peterborough goal machine Jack Marriott after it was reported that bids worth £5million plus add-ons will be considered in the summer.
The Daily Mail has reported that Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday could potentially table bids for Marriott, 23, after seeing him blitz the goal scoring charts at London Road, netting 32 times in 52 appearances across all competitions.
It is understood that there has also been Premier League interest in the Peterborough hitman, so if Rangers can pull off a summer swoop for the Englishman, it will be a stunning piece of business by director of football Mark Allen.
Surely Marriott would prefer a move to Scotland were he has the chance to play in Europe rather than join a Championship side that probably won’t be able to achieve promotion next season.
And with the potential of bagging at least £10million from offloading Morelos, the Gers should be able to sign Marriott plus one or two players of similar calibre to continue improving the first-team.
In other Rangers news, this European manager has been made favourite to be named as the next Light Blues manager.
