Pundit can't believe 'dynamite' Joelinton amid 'wow' Newcastle United reveal
Kevin Campbell has claimed Joelinton has become Newcastle United’s “most consistent performer” since transitioning to a midfield role under Eddie Howe.
The former Everton striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 26-year-old has been “dynamite” despite initially looking like a “dud” at St James’ Park.
Speaking to Magpies legend Alan Shearer for The Athletic (8 September), Howe credited Joelinton for his “dramatic” improvement after his transition to a midfield role – hailing him an “outstanding talent and a really good guy”.
The former Bournemouth boss admitted to being “wowed” by the £40million man during his first training session at Newcastle.
Joelinton has played every minute of Newcastle’s six Premier League games so far this term.
Campbell saluted Howe for identifying potential in the former Hoffenheim star’s talents.

He told Football Insider: “Not all managers are the same, and not every manager would have seen what Howe saw.
“They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
“What he’s did is see potential in Joelinton’s abilities and how that could help with the way he wanted to play at Newcastle.
“I’m sure Joelinton is delighted. Because as a centre-forward, it looked like it was never going to work out.
“It looked like Newcastle had bought a dud, but I tell you what – in midfield, he has been absolute dynamite.
“If you’d have told me before Howe that he would play there, I’d have said there’s no chance.
“But he’s been arguably Newcastle’s most consistent performer for the last year or so.”
