'A lot of Rangers fans are really excited about him' - Exclusive: Hutton Wowed by Ibrox player

Alan Hutton has lavished praise on Rangers winger Ryan Kent for his early season form.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Ibrox full-back claimed that the 23-year-old is “on fire” at the moment, and “looks as sharp as a tack”.

The ex-Liverpool man has put in a number eye-catching displays already this term, and has registered three goals and two assists in his first six Scottish Premiership matches.

But despite his impressive start to the campaign, Kent is still demanding more from himself – much to Hutton’s delight.

Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “He’s been absolutely fantastic. I think this is the best form we’ve seen him in. He looks as sharp as a tack.

“He looks on fire. He’s facing players up, he’s coming inside, he’s taking them down the line. He’s getting shots off, creating chances.

“What’s even better about it is, you listen to his press conference and he’s not happy – he wants to create more chances, he wants to have more shots.

“It just shows you how hungry it is. It’s really good. A lot of the Rangers fans are really excited about him this year.”

Despite failing to find the back of the net in his last outing, Kent still played an integral role for the Gers, assisting both goals in a 2-0 win over Hamilton.

During the 2019/20 campaign, Kent registered a total of eight goals and four assists in 34 games across all competitions.

In other Rangers news, Hutton has told a defender to join a new club for next season as Ibrox terms agreed.
