'A lot of teams were interested' - Hutton buzzing as Rangers agree 'Brilliant' new contract deal

Alan Hutton has revealed his delight after Rangers youngster Nathan Patterson agreed terms on a new contract at Ibrox.

The former Gers and Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, says that the 18-year-old was a player in demand after speaking with his contacts at the club.

The Light Blues confirmed on Saturday that the promising right-back had put pen to paper on a new contract which keeps him tied down until 2022.

Hutton says that the senior staff at Ibrox have high hopes for the youngster and that a new deal is a great move for everyone involved.

Asked if Patterson was someone to get excited about, Hutton told Football Insider: “Yeah, definitely. They speak very highly of him, all through the coaching staff at Ibrox. He’s definitely one for the future.

“It’s great to tie him down, young prospect, very highly rated, a lot of teams were interested in him so for Rangers to tie him down on a longer contract is brilliant for the club and for him.
