Aaron Ramsey is undergoing a Burnley medical as he completes a £14million move from Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider.

The Midlands giants have reached a full agreement with Vincent Kompany's team over a deal that includes a buyback clause.

Ramsey has agreed personal terms with Burnley and is now putting the finishing touches to the move.

Ramsey spent last season on loan in the Championship, first with Norwich City and later with Middlesbrough, making 29 appearances in the second tier across both spells and scoring eight goals.

He had made just one appearance, however, for Aston Villa - a substitute cameo in the League Cup in the 2021-22 campaign.

The midfielder spent the second half of that season out on another loan at Cheltenham Town in League One, notching one goal and one assist in 15 games.

Ramsey has impressed at youth level for Villa, notching 24 goals and 13 assists across 53 games for the club's Under-18 and Under-23 sides.

But the England Under-20 international has now outgrown youth football and is ready for his first opportunity in the Premier League under Kompany.

Burnley have completed widespread arrivals since their return to the Premier League as second-tier champions last season.

The Clarets have bolstered their squad with no fewer than 10 arrivals, including deals for James Trafford, Sander Berge, Nathan Redmond and Dara O'Shea.

Kompany's side start the 2023-24 campaign away at Man City on Friday - but Ramsey will not be able to take part.
