Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer a ‘no-brainer’ as Everton fans rave over ‘bargain of the window’

Everton supporters are ready to go all-in on Aaron Wan-Bissaka after West Ham United’s relegation from the Premier League.

The 28-year-old arrived at the London Stadium on a £15million deal in the summer of 2024, quickly becoming a fan favourite amongst the Hammers, but this season has been a real struggle for him.

He was forced to fight Kyle Walker-Peters for a starting spot under Nuno Espirito Santo, only starting two of the Irons’ last seven Premier League matches, falling down the pecking order dramatically.

Now, Everton are eyeing a deal for Wan-Bissaka, given their own problems in the right-back department, and the Toffees are being given the green light to splash £10million on his signature this summer.

Everton fans already hyping up Aaron Wan-Bissaka transfer

This is all according to The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath (26 May), who reports that David Moyes’ side are looking at completing a deal for the full-back, who is set to head for the World Cup with the Democratic Republic of Congo soon.

The majority of supporters are extremely excited about the deal, with Moyes being backed to get the best out of Wan-Bissaka following a lull in his performances in East London this season.

While the defender never made an appearance under Moyes, joining just weeks after the manager stepped away from the Hammers, it seems like a sensible move from the Toffees.

One fan has already suggested that he could be the “bargain of the window,” while another labelled the potential transfer as a “no-brainer” due to the bargain price following West Ham’s relegation.

What could this mean for David Moyes’ current defence?

A solid right-back signing would certainly allow for Jake O’Brien to feature in his natural centre-back position. But of course, that would impact the current centre-back partnership.

Michael Keane had the one-year extension in his contract triggered in April, and James Tarkowski has another two years left on his deal until the Toffees have to worry about him.

However, there are serious concerns over Jarrad Branthwaite at Everton, having picked up another long-term injury. He made just 10 total appearances during the 2025-26 campaign.

Many already believe that the Toffees made a mistake by not cashing in on the defender last summer, and while he is clearly a huge talent, his constant issues off the pitch continue to cause an issue.

The signing of Wan-Bissaka would free up another option for the centre of defence, and Moyes might be able to let Branthwaite go for a reasonable, though not as good as before, fee.
