West Ham fans have taken to social media to berate one of their players who had a nightmare against Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

West Ham were in dire need of another home win against fellow early-season strugglers Burnley to close the gap between the sides in 18th and 17th.

Burnley took the lead in the first-half as Zian Flemming powered a header past Alphonse Areola, but the sides were level at the break as Callum Wilson turned Crysencio Summerville's deflected shot in from close range.

Tomas Soucek repeated the trick that saw him score late on against Newcastle last week as he bundled home in the 77th minute, and Kyle Walker-Peters added some gloss onto the result as he tapped home late on.

It ended 3-2 to West Ham against Burnley after Josh Cullen pulled one back, but one of the hosts' players was singled out by his fans for yet another poor individual performance.

Max Kilman lost Zian Flemming for Burnley's opener

Max Kilman cost West Ham £40million to sign from Wolves in the summer of 2024, but has struggled to live up to that price-tag ever since.

He played in every Premier League game for the East London club in his debut season, which is an impressive feat, but hardly much to boast about considering their 14th-placed finish with 62 goals conceded.

Kilman had a nightmare against Leeds last month, and despite a better showing as the Hammers beat Newcastle last week, he returned to type in the first-half at the London Stadium on Saturday (8 November).

The 28-year-old was at fault for the Clarets' opener as he allowed the burly Flemming to climb all over him before he headed with ease past Areola for 1-0.

Despite their win, he finished the game with just one accurate long ball of five attempted, no ground or aerial duels won from three attempted and only one interception.

Kilman blasted by West Ham fans for 'terrible' Burnley showing

Numerous Hammers fans took to X to blast Kilman for his performance, as one said: "Kilman is absolutely useless man what a joke of a player."

Another wrote: "Kilman don’t even jump. Get out of my club you absolute fraud."
